Friends and feelings. That is the theme for today's newsletter. What an important topic to teach kids! Brain researcher, John Medina, says that empathy is a leading predictor of social competency in children.

For some children, empathy and being sensitive to others' feelings comes very naturally. For many, selfishness is all too prevalent, and so teaching kids about the feelings of others is essential.

I want to start by sharing an article I wrote called, "Mom, I Don't Have any Friends." How do we parent through that tough, heart-breaking statement? I am excited to share my thoughts.
