Today we did our annual mud walk. Below is a picture of my son and one of his closest friends.
What's a mud walk, you ask? We have a spot on the Puget Sound we go to wait for low tide. Then, we trek out in the mud and muck to explore all of the fun creatures that have uncovered themselves. We hunt for gooey duck, pick up starfish, and uncover rocks to find crabs.
There's a mess along the way, but it is always a fun time. There's a competition for who can find the most interesting man-made item and the most interesting God-made item. This year, we discovered the most-bright red anenome I'd ever seen. It looked like a weirdly-shaped tomato.
Last year, I found the most out-of-this-world creature I'd ever seen. I'll add the TikTok here to see if you know what it is.
Sand and Shell Activities for Kids
Inspired by our exploration today, I decided the topic should be sand and shell activties. I hope you enjoy the resources I have collected for you.
